100 WomenPlus celebrates female entrepreneurship and innovation in Brussels

  • Dissemination, networking and exchange of experiences will be the protagonists of this event next Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 2:30 p.m.
  • The 100 Women Plus project aims to strengthen the presence of European and African women in the economic and business sectors.  

Brussels, 23/04/2024. Brussels will dress up on 7 May to host a key event focused on giving visibility to female entrepreneurship, equality and participation initiatives. The Finnova Foundation’s headquarters in Brussels will host ‘Building the Europe of tomorrow with the women of today’, an event that seeks to strengthen the ecosystem of women entrepreneurs and innovators.

The Spanish-Belgian Finnova Foundation will host the final event of the European project 100 Women Plus. A project co-financed by the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme, with a budget of 60,000 euros, which promotes female participation and the creation of alliances between entrepreneurial support organisations.

The event will be attended by institutional representatives and people involved with female entrepreneurship and the business world.

Juanma Revuelta, CEO of Finnova, Lola Bordás, President of the Association of Founders and Marketing Director of Finnova, and Elisabeta Katiaj, Vice President of the Albanian Diaspora Chamber of Commerce and Managing Director of Porto Romano Consolidation HUB, will welcome all attendees to the event, underlining their commitment to promoting female leadership and entrepreneurship.

The introduction will be followed by Andriana Sukova, Acting Director-General – Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (EMPL), European Commission and Stefan Moritz, Secretary General of European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME.

The event will continue with a panel discussion with the participation of Wendy Agyin, co-founder of Gold Butter and business coach of #SheDIDIT, Fulvia Nannini, Business Angel & Strategic Advisor of Angel for Women (A4W), Lorena Billi, founder of Furt’Her and Patricia Trejo, head of communication and institutional relations of the CEOE Permanent Delegation to the European Union (EU).

After the round table, there will be representatives of the winners of the Girls4tech and TechnovationGirls Cv- Finnova Challenges programs. Thus, the five winners of the Erasmus Plus GirlsForTech programme with their project ‘Tas – Sustainable Active Tourism’, which aims to discover local places, increase sustainability, provide services, promote trade and tourism and encourage the improvement and respect of the environment, will receive recognition for their achievements in offering a digital solution within the framework of the STEM concept (science, science, etc.).  technology, engineering and mathematics) to a local challenge in the municipality of Puçol. Manuel Nuñez and Ángel Sanz, winners of TechnovationGirls Cv- Finnova Challenges 2022, will also attend the European capital to present their project. It is worth highlighting the presence of Paz Carceller, mayoress of Puçol also involved in the GirlsForTech project.

The event “Building the Europe of tomorrow with the women of today” celebrating female entrepreneurship in Brussels will culminate with talks on the skills of the future and gender gap, networking sessions and dialogues with citizens. A unique meeting where attendees will be able to enjoy training and exchange activities, thus strengthening the community of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).

About 100 Women Plus

100 Women Plus is a project co-financed by the EU Erasmus plus Programme and led by Finnova, in collaboration with the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and the Fundadoras association. This initiative was born in an attempt to address the need for greater equality and enhance international cooperation on women’s empowerment. 100 Women Plus, which has been designed to improve the channels of collaboration and dialogue, propose a series of learning activities, exchange of experiences and transfer of results that contribute to establishing new mechanisms for female participation, strengthen the ecosystem of women entrepreneurs in the participating countries and create networks and generate alliances between entrepreneurial support organisations.
